Tank Selection

Light

Light also has an effect on the hatch rate of Artemia salina, improving hatch rate up to 62%. You should attempt to keep the light at around 2000 lux for an ideal hatch rate. You can vary this around ± 500 lux to keep your hatch rate above 70% and ± 1000 lux to remain above 50%.

On top of this light is also neccecary for the growth of alge in your tank.

Water

The water you use is essential for their health and development. Using water with a stable pH between 7 and 8, and minimizing irritants, will promote optimal hatching and growth. Tap water often contains flouride or in some rare cases lead, it's recomended to buy bottled spring water or distilled water.

Artemia salina thrives in a salinity of 32 ppt, you can use the following formula to calculate how much salt you will need for your tank:

To reach 16 g (0.56 oz) you can either use pure sea salt or 1.24 Sea Monkey packets (Either Nr.1 or Nr.2 will work)
