Light also has an effect on the hatch rate of Artemia salina, improving hatch rate up to 62%. You should attempt to keep the light at around 2000 lux for an ideal hatch rate. You can vary this around ± 500 lux to keep your hatch rate above 70% and ± 1000 lux to remain above 50%.
On top of this light is also neccecary for the growth of alge in your tank.

The water you use is essential for their health and development. Using water with a stable pH between 7 and 8, and minimizing irritants, will promote optimal hatching and growth.
